About Solardey

A platform built between two worlds.

Connecting Nordic clean-tech thinking with African solar opportunity — through insight, relationships, and action.

"Stories that power change."

Our Mission

The energy transition is a collective endeavour.

It thrives when knowledge, questions, and experiences are shared openly — when discussions move from technical reports into homes, communities, and public spaces. Solardey exists to make that happen across the Nordic–Africa corridor.

We believe that solar is more than infrastructure. It is a tool for climate action, social development, and economic opportunity. Our approach bridges Nordic clean-tech thinking with African energy realities — practically, not theoretically.

What We Do

Three ways we add value.

Insight

We create content that informs, inspires, and opens meaningful conversations around solar energy and sustainable development across the Nordic–Africa corridor.

  • The Solardey Podcast — conversations with researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers
  • Solar Stories — YouTube series visiting real solar installations
  • Articles and thought leadership on market dynamics, policy, and practice

  • Partnership matchmaking between Nordic and Nigerian actors
  • Cross-border introductions based on alignment, not just availability
  • Ecosystem engagement through curated membership

Founder · Solardey  ·  Host · The Solardey Podcast

Prosper Emegoakor is the founder of Solardey — a Nordic–Africa solar dialogue platform — and host of The Solardey Podcast. Based in Malmö, Sweden, with roots in Nigeria, he is currently pursuing solar installation engineering at KYH, with a focus on PV systems, battery storage, and utility-scale solar. He holds solar energy training from New York University and is a certified solar installer trained at Nercia Academy.

Before solar, Prosper built and led ventures across construction, fashion, and retail in Sweden. He co-founded Kenze, a Swedish construction company with a deliberate hiring philosophy — bringing on foreigners building their lives in Sweden. He also founded Akụkọ (Igbo for "storytelling"), a brand of African-inspired bamboo socks celebrating Afro-diaspora identity — a project that grew into Afro Urban Store at Emporia Shopping Centre in Malmö, a first-of-its-kind retail space for Afro diaspora entrepreneurs and small brands.

Across every venture, one instinct has guided the work: see who's missing from the conversation, then build them a seat at the table. That same instinct now sits at the heart of Solardey.

With over a decade in entrepreneurship across two continents, Prosper sees solar as the most democratic, scalable, and resilient energy source we have — and Solardey as the platform to move those conversations from air to action.

Why Solardey

Solar as a movement, not just a market.

Practical knowledge exchange

Turning research and technology into usable insights for practitioners, investors, and communities navigating the energy transition.

Collaboration for local impact

Linking Nordic innovation and systems thinking with African energy realities — not as a top-down transfer, but as a genuine two-way exchange.

Solar in everyday life

Engaging households, communities, and individuals in the energy conversation — because the transition only works if it works for people.

Inclusive dialogue

Creating space for researchers, entrepreneurs, skeptics, and advocates alike — because honest conversation moves things further than preaching to the converted.
